FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is the Talus Heelbed in my heel when I have pain in the ball of my foot?

The Talus Heelbed is a scientific breakthrough designed specifically to prevent the pain that comes from wearing high heels. The insert decreases pressure off the ball of the foot, and shifts that pressure through the arch, heel, and entire leg. This allows the foot to tolerate standing and walking in high heels just like it would with a sneaker or flat shoe. The result is less pain while you are wearing your heels and less chance of foot problems- -like bunions--in the future.

Cushions in the ball of the foot cannot change how the foot moves, only compensate for bad movements.

How long before I notice the benefits of the Talus Heelbed?

Most women will notice less pain the first time they wear Talus Heelbeds, particularly in a new pair of shoes. An older pair of shoes may have a bad wear pattern that will take time to adjust. We frequently hear that women notice less pain the day following a long day in heels when they wear the Talus Heelbeds. Because the insert also prevents the heel bone from lifting out of the shoe, you will notice fewer blisters on the back of your heel bone.

Since the Talus Heelbed improves how the foot moves, you will continue to notice the benefits of wearing Talus Heelbeds for years to come. Wearing them decreases the forces that cause bunions, neuromas, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, knee pain, iliotibial band syndrome, hip bursitis, sciatica, and low back pain.

Why is there only one size of Talus Heelbed?

The heel portion of the foot does not change much between a US Women's size 4 and size 11. We extensively tested our inserts on women of all foot shapes, sizes, and activity levels and found that the Talus Heelbed is effective at preventing the pain from high heel shoes for the majority of women in this size range.

Will the Talus Heelbed change how my shoes fit?

The Talus Heelbed does not take up additional room in the shoe because it follows the contours of the foot. If a shoe has a poor fit (too small or too large), the Talus Heelbed will not correct this problem. We recommend that you have your shoes fit by a professional.

Why is there a Right and a Left Insert?

We wonder why all inserts don't have a right and a left version! No one would purchase a pair of shoes that did not have a right and a left side that matched the curvature of each foot. Our inserts are designed to be anatomically and ergonomically correct, which could not be possible without having a separate right and left side.

Do Talus Heelbeds work with all heeled shoes?

The Talus Heelbed was designed to work with all heeled shoes with a heel of ¾ inches all the way up to 5 inches. The insert will fit well into boots, wedges, slingbacks, mules, pumps, kitten heels—you name it!

Why do Talus Heelbeds have to adhere to shoe?

In order to effectively change the position of the foot in a high heel shoe, the insert must be attached to the shoe. If it was not attached, the insert would shift towards the arch and ball of the shoe, like a child going down a slide at the playground.

We do utilize the highest quality 3M pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) to ensure that your Talus Heelbed will not shift, slide, or leave behind a gummy residue for the life of your shoe.

Why aren't Talus Heelbeds clear?

We have found that ‘clear' inserts on the market will only stay clear for a few wears then turn cloudy and yellow. In addition, there is no available adhesive that sticks to the clear inserts, which limits the effectiveness of the insert.

We are currently working to develop new technologies that will produce a higher quality clear insert that does not get cloudy or yellow and has superior adhesive. Be sure to follow us on your favourite social network and you'll be the first to know when we figure it out!
